🍃 About Us — The Story Behind Noble Falls Tavern

Where good food, good company, and genuine WA hospitality come together in the heart of Gidgegannup.

When you walk into Noble Falls Tavern, you’re stepping into more than a country pub. You’re stepping into a living family story — one built over 30+ years, across kitchens, restaurants, vineyards, and communities all over Western Australia.

At the center of that story are Brian & Sharon, a passion for hospitality started early, grew stronger through every venue they touched, and ultimately led them right here, to the hills of Gidgegannup.

🍝 Grapevine Italian Restaurant – Where It All Began

Before pubs, vineyards, or taverns, there was Grapevine Italian Restaurant in Heathridge — the first “baby” Brian & Sharon built together.

  • Brian ran the kitchen, bringing warm, homestyle Italian cooking to life.
  • Sharon ran the front of house, creating the kind of welcoming, family-driven atmosphere people still remember.

Their teamwork didn’t just make Grapevine successful — it became the foundation of everything they’ve done since.

It was also where they met their future business partners, Roger & Rosemary, and together the four of them formed the hospitality enterprise known as “2 Fat Chefs”

This partnership opened new doors, new venues, and new opportunities, laying the groundwork for the career they built over the next three decades.

🍀 Paddy Malone’s – Joondalup’s Iconic Irish Pub

When Irish pubs were booming across WA, Paddy Malone’s stood out as one of the most vibrant, loved venues in Joondalup.

Known for:

  • authentic Irish charm
  • big community nights
  • hearty meals and pints
  • live entertainment
  • a “locals first” atmosphere

Brian played a major role in shaping that early success — he was one of the original head managers when the pub first opened, helping build its culture, grow its team, and create the warm, cheeky, welcoming vibe Paddy’s became famous for.

This chapter strengthened Brian & Sharon’s reputation as leaders in the hospitality scene — not just operators, but people who genuinely understood how to build a venue that felt alive.

🍇 The Laughin’ Barrel

Before the return to Gidgegannup, Sharon took on a new challenge — one that combined all her strengths: hospitality, community, and family-friendly dining.

She became the driving force behind The Laughin’ Barrel in the Swan Valley.

Part vineyard, part restaurant, part family day-out destination, it quickly became a favourite for locals and tourists alike.

Under Sharon’s management, it thrived with:

  • big open lawns
  • vineyard views
  • children’s play areas
  • hearty wood fired pizzas

She put her heart into it — and it showed.

They made the difficult but meaningful decision to sell The Laughin’ Barrel just before COVID, shifting their full attention to the tavern and their growing family business.

🏡 Noble Falls Tavern — Bringing a Classic Back to Life

In September 2012, ready for a new challenge and wanting to build something closer to home, Brian & Sharon purchased the long-closed but historic 1962-built Noble Falls Tavern.

As long-time members of the Gidgegannup community, they had a vision:

“Bring this old pub back to life — for locals, families, travelers, and the community we love.”

What others saw as a rundown, forgotten building, they saw as potential.

A place with history. A place worth saving.

They reopened the doors, restored the venue, and began shaping the warm, welcoming “pub in the hills” that Noble Falls Tavern has become today.

👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 A True Family-Run Pub

Noble Falls Tavern isn’t just operated by the family — it is the family.

  • One son works in the kitchen, helping build the meals, specials, and creativity behind the menu.
  • Another son runs the front-of-house and bar, managing events, live music, day-to-day operations, and keeping the tavern’s community spirit strong.
  • And Brian & Sharon continue to guide the venue with decades of experience, passion, and love for their customers.

The tavern has become a place where customers feel like locals, and locals feel like family.
